Education“Expecting Miracles"is a peer driven childbirth education class taught in a format that allows women and families to choose which topics most interest them. Each week explores a different topic in depth. Topics are:
Prenatal Yoga is about honoring changes in ourselves and our body as we connect to baby throughout these nine months. Pregnancy is a transitional time for women, when many physical & emotional changes take place. Prenatal Yoga Postures help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, keep the body flexible, and alleviate many common discomforts of pregnancy, while finding focus through balance and the breath to connect mother and baby. It also prepares the mother for a healthy, mindful, more natural approach to the challenges of labor and birth. Sharing information and knowledge with meditation/relaxation for a peaceful, calm state of mind is also the focus of these classes.
Class Schedule: Prenatal Classes in English are held on Thursday evenings from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Classes are taught by Rae Baker and Meghan Kiyar. Prenatal Classes in Spanish are held on Wednesdays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Classes are taught by Beatriz Patrick and Evelyn Hernandez. Prenatal Classes in Somali are held on Saturdays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Classes are taught by Shamsa Idle. Car Seat Education in English (for Ucare, MHP and Medica members) are held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month at 10:30 am Car Seat Education in Somali Coming Soon! Looking for Yoga accessories?
