Car Seats

CAR SEATS

We are able to provide car seats to those with one of the Minnesota state-sponsored (Medicaid) insurance plans listed below.

  • State-sponsored Blue Plus

  • State-sponsored HealthPartners

  • State-sponsored Hennepin Health

  • State-sponsored UCare and UCare Individual Family Plans

AND WITHIN AN ELIGIBLE COUNTY:

  • Hennepin

  • Ramsey

  • Dakota

  • Anoka

  • Washington

  • St. Louis

  • Scott

  • Blue Earth

HOW TO REQUEST A CAR SEAT:

  1. Complete our request form

  2. Keep an eye out for additional communication from Everyday Miracles, as car seats often require additional information to be approved

  3. Once your request is approved, a Car Seat Technician will call you to schedule a time to deliver the seat and provide one-on-one safety education (this usually takes 3 weeks from the date of request)

Car seat deliveries may take up to 3-4 weeks after initial referral and deliveries are scheduled according to estimated due date of the baby. After receiving your request, we will only contact you if we need more information or to inform you that we are unable to fulfill your request.

INSURANCE plans will NOT approve car seat requests for pregnant clients until they are 7 months pregnant. We still encourage you to submit your car seat request prior to that point; however, please know this will directly affect the timing of receiving your seat. Once your car seat request is approved, you will receive an email (if provided) from our Car Seat Coordinator and your request will be held until further action can be taken farther along in your pregnancy.

You can be confident knowing that every car seat that we provide is brand new and has never been used. It will be delivered to your home by a trained Car Seat Technician, who will instruct you on how to safely install and use the seat in your vehicle.

While every insurance company provides a slightly different model of seat, all companies provide a convertible-style car seat, meant for children from newborn size to 30 lbs. There are no insurance companies that provide an infant carrier/bucket-style seat. Additionally, please keep in mind that it is not possible to request a specific style or color of seat when the cost is being covered by insurance.

If you are requesting a seat for a newborn (or soon-to-be born) baby, you will receive a convertible car seat, which may resemble the one pictured (which is only meant to be representative of the type of seat). This seat is rear-facing for infants and can transition to a forward-facing seat after the age of 2 years old. These convertible seats are safe for babies who are at least 5 lbs.

You may also request a car seat for older children. Insurance plans typically provide a seat for children up to the age of 8 years old. To do so, please select 'yes’, in the car seat section where it asks “Do you have a child (8 years or younger) who you'd like to request a car seat for?”. To add additional children, select ‘I want to add second child’.
