CORE DOULA PROGRAM
Any time is a good time to request a doula, although we recommend doing it near the end of the second trimester (around 26 weeks). The earlier in pregnancy that you submit a doula request, the more likely you are to be matched with a doula!
We believe everyone can benefit from doula care, quality childbirth education, access to great wellness practitioners, and loving support. That is why we are committed to providing a wide range of classes and services that are either covered by Medicaid (state-sponsored) health insurance or accessibly priced for those coming from underserved communities.
Our Core Doula Program connects Everyday Miracles doulas, who have made a commitment to working with low-income families, with pregnant people who are interested in doula support. We are able to provide these services because of the Minnesota Doula Bill, which requires Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) to cover doula services provided by certified doulas. If you have a Medicaid (state-sponsored) health insurance plan and are interested in doula support, please complete a request for a doula on our requests page. Keep in mind that, with your Medicaid insurance plan, you may also be eligible for a car seat and/or breast pump through Everyday Miracles; you can find more information about these additional services on this page, too, and request them within the same form. You will also be eligible to attend classes for either zero out-of-pocket cost or at a significantly discounted rate; click here to request our class discount.
As a nonprofit we are committed to improving birth and reducing health disparities in our local communities, particularly for those that face increased risk for poor outcomes. We know that healthy, peaceful births make for healthier families, and healthier families make for stronger communities. As we like to say…
