ST. CLOUD DOULAS
My name is Fatuma (Fa) Youb, MPH. I am a trained COPE birth doula and a breastfeeding counselor. I had the opportunity to witness live births in rural Cambodia as a Peace Corps volunteer in 2013. I have seen the disparity amongst families in birthing spaces. Black women are more than three times more likely to have a maternal death than white women in the United States. Providing physical and emotional support to pregnant women during the birthing period until the first 1000 days of the child is critical for the child and mother's health. It is essential to me to help stop the disparity amongst black women in pregnancy-related deaths. I am excited to be part of the Everyday Miracles team to serve as many diverse families as possible. I live in Central Minnesota and am thrilled to use my Somali language skills to serve Somali mothers, particularly in the Saint Cloud, Waite Park, St. Joseph, and Sartell locations.
Birth work is Life work. I believe it is a beautiful way to usher life into the World.
After completing their education at Post University, I embraced my calling as a doula. With a deep understanding of the physical and emotional challenges of childbirth, they dedicated themselves to supporting expectant mothers and their families. I believes that every birthing experience should be empowering and positive, and they work tirelessly to provide comfort, guidance, and encouragement to those they assist.
As a mother of three wonderful children, I draw upon their own experiences to empathize with and support families during the transformative journey of parenthood. Balancing the demands of motherhood with their passion for doula work, I’ve became a beacon of strength and inspiration for many in my community.
In addition to their role as a doula, I’m very deeply involved in local initiatives aimed at improving the lives of families in our community. From organizing parenting workshops to volunteering at local shelters, they are committed to fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, earning them recognition and gratitude from families whose lives they have touched.
More so I have an unwavering dedication to my clients to be, and community exemplifies the qualities of compassion, resilience, and selflessness. I believe that by empowering mothers and families, they can create a ripple effect of positivity that extends far beyond the birthing room.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my children, exploring the outdoors, and engaging in community events.
Through my commitment to supporting mothers, nurturing families, and uplifting the community, I have built a legacy of love and compassion that will inspire generations to come.
Hi, I'm Morgan! I’m a certiified COPE Doula, wife, and mother of 3. Not too long ago, birthing people went through labor surrounded by their loved ones who had birthed babies, and watched babies be born. They came together to help care for the birthing family and teach them how to be parents. Nowadays families are far apart, this community has been lost. This is why I knew I wanted to be birthing people's "village".
Helping to end the mortality rate of black and brown birthing people and babies is my biggest passion -- being able to provide support to the unheard.
