TWIN CITIES DOULAS

Scroll through to learn about our indigenous doulas that serve clients in the Twin Cities/Metro area.

Complete our request form.

If you have a request for a specific doula or suggestions of ones you feel may be a good fit, we are happy to check with their availability for your birthing time. However, as a small nonprofit, we do not have the capacity for clients to interview several doulas, then select one from that process. Your placement will be determined by your response to the Doula Confirmation Form,  your attendance at classes, and doula availability around your estimated due date (EDD).

While we will do everything possible to place you with a doula, making a request is not a guarantee that we will have a doula available at your birthing time!

Katie

I believe every family deserves a doula and I feel blessed with the opportunity to support them in this capacity.

Hi! My name is Katie and I am so happy to be part of the doula community at Everyday Miracles. I became a certified doula eight years ago through DONA. I have since become a placenta encapsulator and certified lactation counselor (CLC). Originally from North Dakota, I moved to the Twin Cities to begin doula work full time after working as a 2nd grade teacher.

I love working with women and am amazed by their strength. I believe every family deserves a doula and I feel blessed with the opportunity to support them in his capacity. My ultimate goal is for families to feel empowered during the birth experience, however that may look. I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds and cultures, and learning from others.

I live in Crystal with my cuddly cat, Penny. In my spare time I enjoy cooking vegan dishes, drinking tea, biking, sewing, teaching, serving at church, and being outside with friends and family.

Whether it be your first or fifth child; every woman deserves to be confident, nurtured, informed, and supported through their journey.

Hello/Boozhoo! My name is pronounced O-Ya- Tae! Which is Lakota, meaning the unity of the people or the people. You are getting ready for one of the biggest days of your life, and I am here to support you!

Whether it be your first or fifth child; every woman deserves to be confident, nurtured, informed, and supported through their journey. That is my main priority with every one of my clients. Regardless of any background, race, sexuality, status culture or belief; I am here to support you in ways that can be hard to come by, sometimes. I say that with confidence because I approach my clients with individualized care determined by their needs. Teaching from not only evidence-based research, but also life experiences from myself and other mothers.

Just a little bit about me and my background: I have three children of my own! I planned on having all natural births with all, BUT our creator had different plans. My first son was a cesarean section, and he is now 16 years old. My second son had a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) with an epidural, and he is now going on 12 years old. Finally, my daughter was another VBAC, and I actually got to go through with my natural birth. She just turned 7 years old. They are of course the reason behind almost every major decision that has changed my life’s trajectory in the best possible ways.
Along with my kids being my biggest accomplishments in my eyes; I have also had the pleasure to reach a handful of other opportunities that I am proud of.

I became a doula at the age of 19 through DONA in Duluth, Minnesota. Quickly found out that I needed more life experience to really get clients. Despite having already had a child of my own I decided to pursue nursing in the hopes it would lead me to midwifery. I achieved two degrees and worked as a doula sparingly for almost 10 years. Within the last 2 years I decided it was time to take on being a doula full time and I haven’t looked back since. Will I still pursue midwifery? Yes, I plan on becoming a direct entry midwife. Until then I will be in love with this career and love to take on training often, to ensure I am up to date and to be able to do more for my mother.
I am so excited to work with you!

Thank you/ Miigwech!
